Lightroom Accelerates Sports Club / LA

Sports Club / LA is opening its first new club since 2003 in Boston’s Chestnut Hill neighborhood. Looking to generate excitement and momentum for this new “Jewel Box” Club, SCLA asked Lightroom to create a series of cutting-edge media experiences for the pre-sales campaign.
Our Digital Marketing Suite for this project includes: a large touchscreen kiosk, an iPad app, an HD video loop and a series of Photo Realistic 3D renderings. Central to the experience is the iPad app which allows the Sales team to walk people through the club amenities, services and membership pricing. Interested customers can register within the app which links to SCLA’s existing CRM providing a seamless registration process, either within the pre-sales office or remotely.

New Video is Live: U2 – The Claw
The video we produced in support of U2 and Live Nation’s efforts to find a permanent home for the three claw structures that were engineered for the U2 360 tour is complete and ready for viewing here.
Shooting and producing this video was a thrill for our entire team. We shot interviews of key team members such as U2 360′s Production Director, Jake Berry and Live Nation’s Senior VP of Global Operations and tour director, Craig Evans. We also took extensive video, still and time-lapse footage of the structure during the Anaheim, California tour stop and edited our footage with some amazing shots from a video produced by Live Nation on the design and construction of the Claw.
And the best part is we got to use some incredible music by Rock’s biggest band.
On Location: San Diego

Lightroom is on location this week in San Diego, shooting for Evolution Hospitality. We’ve been working away with the Newport based team creating a show that tells their story and communicates their culture as a recruiting tool to attract and hire the best in the industry. We’ve toured, visited and stayed in many of their amazing properties over the summer, and finished the shooting this week here in San Diego at the Hard Rock Hotel – a property that Lightroom produced a number of cutting edge marketing tools for back in 2005.
We’ll post the final show when it it ready in October!

Sauder School of Business – Business Family Centre
Lightroom is please to announce our sponsorship of the Family Business Centre at the UBC Sauder School of Business. As part of our involvement we are producing a series of videos about the Family Business Centre and its programs. As a graduate of the Sauder School of Business I’m very excited to be helping to support this important institution. The Business Family Centre exists to assist business families through education, succession planning, research and advisory services. With up to 80% of Canadian businesses owned or operated by Business Families, the importance of building and strengthening these organization and families is critical to the economy.
The first video will premiere tonight at the Family Legacy Series dinner at the Westin Bayshore. Our team interviewed some of Vancouver’s top business leaders, to tell the story of the centre in their own words. We’ll post a link to the production when it goes live on the Business Family Centre website in the coming weeks.

New Website
Our new site is finally live.. it has been a labour of love as we’ve wrestled with different ideas, directions, strategies and opinions, but we have finally settled on a platform for our online identity. The basic underlying concept is to generate sharable content. Sure, we’ll still list our services and have portfolio galleries, but we will also take people behind the scenes on a project or trip and have some colour commentary about the experience of creating. So when I go to Croatia on a shoot for example, I’ll do an article on my experiences traveling and exploring an exotic country. In this way we will capture and share the stories we woudl normally share at dinner parties or in conversation.
We’ll also be developing short articles on our industry, highlighting topics that clients and freinds seem most interested in, or sometimes things i just want to get off my chest. Video content has always been a key element of Lightroom’s offering and Video will also play a key role in the new site.
Images both new and old will use to highlight things we are currently working on, or may be a blast from the past… as we pull out some old gems from the last 15 years of creating experiences for people around the world.
My hope as well is that the articles, images and video we generate will be interesting, accessible and Sharable… my new buzzword I keep over-sharing at the office. And also the topic of an upcoming article. So feel free to share… like, tweet, retweet, comment, digg, even at the water-cooler. And let me know what you think.
