Hotel Georgia Grand Opening

The historic Hotel Georgia has just re-opened after a mega restoration project as part of Delta Land’s Residences at the Hotel Georgia.  Before Rosewood was signed on as the hotel operator, Lightroom took Delta through a Branding and Positioning exercise to develop the visual identity and define the Brand of this iconic Vancouver Landmark.  Though the final result didn’t get used, there is some excellent design work that would be a shame if no one ever saw it.

Hawksworth Restaurant Grand Opening

David Hawksworth’s eponymous restaurant has just opened in the historic Hotel Georgia.  Part of a multi year redevelopment of this historic property, Hawksworth’s has opened to rave reviews placing it in the upper echelon of Vancouver’s vibrant fine dining experiences.  Lightroom had the pleasure of working with David as he was developing the restaurant and we developed the visual identity and stationery package for the restaurant.

We are excited to announce that LightRoom has moved into a new office space.  After having maintained a presence in Vancouver iconic Landing in Gastown since 1999, we have started a new chapter a bit further east in Railtown.  Railtown is a great iconic waterfront neighbourhoods in Vancouver, where light manufacturing operates next to cutting edge creative firms.  It is also home to an eclectic mix of contemporary lofts, social housing, classic diners, green grocers and an amazing butcher shop.  All this and still a stones throw from Gastown and Chinatown.

Our phone and email details remain the same, but our physical address is now 4th floor – 343 Railway Street, Vancouver, BC.

If you are in the hood let us know and we’ll grab a coffee.

Lightroom in Belize

The last week of January 2011 found Lightroom on the sunny shores of Belize.  Belize is a fascinating country where Central America meets the Caribbean. Lush jungles cover the mountains and hillsides that rise up dramatically from the pristine shores where blue Caribbean waters lap on barefoot perfect beaches.  we spent a week shooting the entire country by land, air and sea… Stay tuned for more info on this project as it develops or read an article about our experience shooting in Belize.

Lightroom in Croatia

In May of 2010, Lightroom kicked off a huge marketing initiative with Colliers Residential and Jupiter Adria for the Residences at Dubrovnik Sun Gardens.  These fully completed, finely appointed luxury residences all feature sweeping views of the Adriatic Sea.  We got immersed in the project during a week long on location video and still photography shoot, during which we created a wealth of assets of the resort property and the surrounding country side.  Croatia is a fascinating country, a blend of cultural influences that reflect its origins. From Venetian Architecture to Italian cuisine, to

The Old city of Dubrovnik is spell binding.  The stone streets wind around Cathedrals and ancient monasteries and open on to large squares lined with coffee shops and art galleries.  There are many ways to loose yourself – spend a day perched on a rocky outcropping sipping Pivo as the sun shimmers on the blue waters of the Adriatic, stroll through the many museums and art galleries, enjoy live Jazz on an outdoor terrace, or hole up in a Pub and chat with locals and travelers.

Wine & Fish - staples of life on the Peljesac

Up the coast, Ston is the Gateway to the Peljesac Peninsula, the Heart of Croatia’s booming wine industry. We sampled some impressive white wines from the region and drove through the rugged countryside punctuated by vineyards.  Ston it self is a Medieval city renowned for its salt production, the salt flats originally built by the romans over 1000 years ago are still operational today and make an enjoyable stop and the perfect spot to view the walls of Ston as they zigzag up the mountain, protecting the city.  Lunch by the sea in Mali-Ston is a must, especially if you like Seafood. The Restaurants rely on local fisherman and the daily menu is dominated by the fresh offerings that have been brought from the sea that morning.

Sochi 2014

In 2007, LightRoom contributed to the bid package for Russia, bringing the facilities proposed by Maple Leaf Studios and HOK Architecture to life in a series of still and animated 3D renderings, a printed book and a video tour of the various venues being built to host the games.  We also provided an introduction that resulted in Sochi securing Science World for their Pavilion in Vancouver.  Dean & Scott received coveted guest passes to the Sochi Pavilion and were able to experience very gracious Russian Hospitality.

The spirit of the games inspired our entire city to proudly wear red and white – the colours of Canada’s iconic flag – each day. Nowhere was this more obvious than at the corner of Georgia and Howe, where the Delta Group wrapped the historic Hotel Georgia in the largest Canadian Flag ever produced.  To coincide with the unprecedented attention this brought to this historic site, LightRoom created a new website, sales centre, a series of print ads, an interactive touchscreen and a brochure to tell the world about the rebirth of this legendary property.
