U2 – The Claw

The U2 360 tour was the highest grossing tour of all time, with over $700 million in ticket revenue and worldwide attendance of over 7 million. Part of the success of the tour was the unique stage rigging that was designed for the show, allowing the band to play stadiums in the round.  Known as “The Claw” it offered unparalleled sightlines to the stage while the lighting and A/V rigging were suspended above the stage.

As a fully engineered structure the Claw is capable of supporting 150 tons of weight - more than double the strength of a standard arena setting.  With the tour wrapping in July 2011, U2 and Live Nation decided to try to find a permanent installation for these iconic structures.  To that end, Lightroom created a marketing suite, designed to aid in the sales efforts, comprised of a Video, a series of 3D renderings showing potential uses for the structure, a website and a brochure.
